Compatibility
Tracky runs on any handheld device with Microsoft® PocketPC 2003 or higher e.g. Windows Mobile 5 or 6. Phone enabled PocketPCs are supported, not Windows Mobile Smartphones (phone enabled PocketPCs have a touch screen). Contact us if you are interested in a version for WindowsCE (.Net 4.2 or higher). It requires an NMEA-0183 compatible GPS receiver: wired, BlueTooth™, or built-in. It supports the widely used GPX standard for tracks and POIs. You can share these with your friends, down- and upload them to many existing internet sites, and profit from the wide availability of tools for editing and analysis.

18 January 2008, 's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands TrackThisOut.com releases Tracky 3.0

If you’ve taken your car navigation system into the woods you probably realized that it becomes more of a paper weight than a navigation device. Without roads most can’t function. That’s why you may need off-road navigation software, of which Tracky is a good example. You can use it for hiking, biking, skiing, driving, sailing, scuba diving, golf, city trips, or geo-caching.

In Tracky 3.0 the ease of use improved a lot. It has on-screen buttons which directly invoke the most commonly used tools. A real full-screen mode makes better use of your display. A different move mode allows you to rapidly focus the screen.

It introduces a lot of new features. One of them is that you have seamless access to several databases on internet. You can search for and get detailed information of nearby:

  • businesses (Google Local Search)
  • photos (Panoramio.com)
  • Wikipedia entries (Wikipedia.org)
  • geo-caches (Geocaching.com)
  • weather stations

Furthermore, Tracky now offers real address-to-address navigation. In combination with:

  • the Search tool you can easily get to interesting POIs (restaurants found via Google Local Search, places found via Wikipedia, etc.),
  • the Geocoder tool you can easily get to a certain address, and
  • manually added POIs, you can for example easily find back your car after a long day of shopping.

Last but not least, Tracky offers some additional tools. The Speed alert tool warns you when you exceeed a configurable maximum or minimum speed. The Stopwatch tool works as a normal stopwatch, but this one also triggers on speed and/or distance!

Many more improvements exist. Amongst others, the hybrid Google Maps work now on all platforms. A free trial version is available for download. The trial version works for 15 minutes, but you can re-start it as many times as you want. A license costs 30 Euro. An upgrade fee of 15 Euros holds for those who have a valid 1.x or 2.x license. For those who bought a license on 1st Jan 2008 or later, a free upgrade is offered.

Hi-lights Tracky 3.0:

  • record, share, and train tracks
  • GPX support: direct import in GoogleEarth
  • free online maps anywhere you go (GoogleMaps)
  • follow your buddies live and chat with them
  • address-to-address navigation (Google Directions)
  • search in various online databases for nearby businesses, geo-caches, Wikipedia entries, and more
  • multi-language: English, Deutsch, Nederlands, Français, Español, Italiano, Português, 日本語, 繁體中文, 简体中文, Ελληνικά, Русский, Dansk, Svenska
